Centre for Energy & Environment
Centre is part of a prestigious 5-year project for promoting R & D in 'Energy Efficiency in Buildings' that has been awarded by Indo-US Science and Technology Forum, Govt. of India, and Department of Energy, USA to a consortium of Indian and US institutes. The award is having Rs. 28 Crores of funding from Govt. of India to the Indian institutes and similar funding from DOE, USA to the USA partner institutes. Centre is one of the Indian partner institutes in the consortium having allocation of about Rs. 7 Crores for this purpose. Besides the financial support from Indian and US governments, the project is also going to be supported from 10 industrial partners. The Centre has active collaboration with 7 foreign universities/research organizations from USA and Germany including the Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory, USA. It is also actively associated with the 8 industries, NGOs and Govt. Agencies including REIL, Jaipur and TERI-New Delhi.

Centre considers it an important task to make sure that research results are disseminated and practically implemented in the renewable energy sector with the help of cooperative within research and development. The simulation and analysis of large research data and test facilities for industrial, research-based testing and components, advanced training courses as well as advice and analyses, consultancies where we possess special competences is always given highest priority.
